The American Dog Owners Association is an organization that the entire dog owning public needs to support and give serious consideration to joining.They are on the frontlines of all that is going on in the world of dog law and legislation.

The ADOA mission Statement:

The American Dog Owners Association preserves the special relationship between dogs and mankind by protecting and defending the rights of responsible dog ownership, opposing detrimental and supporting appropriate regulation for dog owners; educating the public and promoting standards for safe and civilized treatment of dogs.

Additionally:

Since 1970, ADOA has been the voice of responsible dog owners and member dog clubs across the United States. ADOA has spoken and still speaks to legislators and in courts to protect rights of responsible dog owners and their dogs. ADOA's membership is composed of member dog clubs and individual dog-owner members representing responsible dog owners from all walks of life, from all over the United States.

ADOA is member-supported by local dog clubs, statewide federations, and by individuals. Their support consists of their membership dues and donations towards the preservation of responsible dog ownership.


National K9 Dog Trainers Association is made up of graduates of: The National K9 School for Dog Trainers, who then choose to join the association as well. I help to run the association's email based discussion group, a closed group only for members in good standing with the association. To learn more about the NK9DTA please click on the logo. AS A MEMBER OF NATIONAL K-9 DOG TRAINERS ASSOCIATION,
I AGREE TO:

  • Maintain high professional standards in the care and training of dogs, business practices, and other areas of conduct.
  • Comply fully with all laws and regulations pertaining to the welfare of animals.
  • Promote and engage in humane treatment of animals in all areas of human interaction with animals.
  • Promote and engage in the responsible handling, training, breeding, selling, grooming and boarding of dogs.
  • Promote and engage in the sharing of ideas among all who deal with animals, with the goal of furthering the education of all persons, including myself, in enhancing the quality of the lives of animals.


The International Association of Canine Professionals is a very broad-based group. They represent professionals for the entire dog-related world. The lion's share of our membership are dog trainers, and getting accepted into the IACP is not just a matter of paying your dues, it is actually necessary to qualify for acceptance into the association. I cannot encourage enough, every dog professional that is reading this page to consider applying to the IACP.

Its aim is to provide support and representation for all professional occupations involved with  any aspect of canine management, health, training and husbandry.

Mission Statement 
The National Association for Search and Rescue Inc., (NASAR) is a not-for-profit membership association dedicated to advancing professional, literary, and scientific knowledge in fields related to search and rescue. NASAR is comprised of thousands of paid and non-paid professionals interested in all aspects of search and rescue - the humanitarian cause of saving lives - throughout the United States and around the world. "...that others may live."

Response to persons in distress has long been an honorable, charitable tradition. The professionals in search and rescue have carried on this tradition of helping others by dedicating time, information, skills, equipment and funding to the relief of suffering. We are actively working toward the development of improved coordination and communications among federal, state, local, and volunteer groups. Our primary goal is to aid in the implementation of a total integrated emergency response, rescue and recovery system.
